Artistic Director: M° Massimo Guidetti

Massimo Guidetti obtained the piano diploma "cum laude" in 1983 at the Conservatorio di Musica "A.Boito" in Parma.
He has followed courses at the Accademia Pianistica of Imola with Franco Scala and Lazar Berman, studied Vocal Chamber Music with Erik Werba and Dalton Baldwin and Chamber Music at the Scuola Internazionale di Musica da Camera del Trio di Trieste.
He has been awarded in some national piano and chamber music competitions.
Since 1994 Massimo Guidetti has held the position of repetiteur and vocal coach at the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Verdi Festival, la Fondazione "Arturo Toscanini", the Teatro Comunale di Modena and the Teatro Comunale di Firenze working under prominent conductors such as John Eliot Gardiner, Daniel Oren, Valery Gergev and Bruno Bartoletti, and singers including Alfredo Kraus, Mirella Freni, Nicolai Ghiaurov, Renato Bruson, Michele Pertusi and Angela Georgiou.
Since 2003, at the invitation of Lorin Maazel in his role as Resident Conductor of the Orchestra Symphonica Toscanini, Massimo Guidetti has toured internationally with the orchestra (Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece, Turkey, China, Japan, the United States, Brasil, Argentina) playing under the baton of Lorin Maazel, Mstislav Rostropovic, Yuri Temirkanov, Charles Dutoit and Georges Prêtre.
He regularly performs in a duo with the pianist Raffaele Cortesi, focusing mainly on 20th century literature such as Stravinsky, Messiaen, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Corghi.
Together with various violinists, including Stefano Pagliani, Luca Fanfoni and Liliana Bernardi, he has performed the majority of the important repertoire of the classical and romantic periods.
He toured the United States in 2002 and 2003 in a violin and piano duo, performing in the Weill Recital Hall at New York's Carnegie Hall on both occasions, and, in 2005, gave a concert at the Sala Paolina in Rome's Quirinale which was broadcast nationally by R.A.I.
In various chamber ensemble groupings Massimo Guidetti performs frequently with the Alma Ensemble, made up of members of Orchestra Mozart - founded and conducted by Claudio Abbado.
He has accompanied numerous song recitals for singers, including Alfredo Kraus, Mirella Freni, Leo Nucci, Michele Pertusi, Raina Kabaivanska and Nicolai Ghiaurov.
During the last academic year he was Visiting Fellow at Cornell University, Ithaca (NY) where he worked and studied performance practice on historical pianos with Malcolm Bilson.
Since 1990 Massimo Guidetti has been Vocal Coach and Piano Collaborative teacher at the Conservatorio di Musica "A. Boito" in Parma.
Together with his work as a musician and a teacher he dedicates himself to organizational activities.
Within the Conservatorio of Parma, besides being coordinator of the Erasmus Program, he has founded a chamber choir consisting only of singing students: this year, the choir has performed the Petite Messe Solennelle in collaboration with prof. Philip Gosset, following his last revision of the piece. He has organized conferences, concerts and master classes, inviting music personalities such as Philip Gossett, Malcolm Bilson, Walter Moore and new emerging groups such as Spira Mirabilis.
As Artistic Director of Associazione Musicale Alia Musica he has promoted and coordinated the activity of Ensemble Vocale Alia Musica, conducted by Roselise Gentile, in quite a few projects and partecipations to international festivals. Afterwards he worked with Ensemble Incantica, with which he has recorded unpublished works by Juan de Anchieta. Lately, always in collaboration with Roselise Gentile, he is workin on a project aimed to the diffusion of choral music bu Swiss composer Carlo Florindo Semini, with concert scheduled in Italy and Switzerland.
